The reality of trafficking and addiction:

Up to 90% of women in street trafficking report a history of childhood sexual abuse, physical abuse, or neglect.

Substance use is one of the most common control tactics used by traffickers to keep women dependent, compliant, and trapped.

National research shows that 80–90% of women in street trafficking struggle with addiction, often introduced by their pimp or trafficker.

89% of women surveyed worldwide said they wanted to leave prostitution but lacked the resources to do so.

Gaps specific to maryland:

In the entire state of Maryland, there is only one trauma-informed residential program designed specifically for women healing from trafficking and addiction together.

Even when programs exist, many cannot accept women also struggling with addiction, trauma, or complex co-occurring disorders.

The restoration house fills a void:

The Restoration House fills a critical gap in Maryland because there are almost no long-term residential programs that help women heal from both trafficking and addiction together. Most programs only address one piece — detox, emergency shelter, or short-term support — leaving women without a safe, stable place to rebuild their lives.

The Restoration House is survivor-informed, built from lived experience. The founder brings empathy, credibility, insight, and a Jesus-shaped vision that most programs simply can’t offer because they’ve never lived this story.

Numerous studies show that a person’s spiritual beliefs and community support reduce relapse, strengthen identity, and increase long-term healing outcomes. Some research found that 82% of clients who experienced a spiritual awakening during treatment remained abstinent one year later, compared to 55% of those who did not.

Restoration is life changing:

Studies show that when a mother enters long-term recovery, her children’s mental health, stability, and long-term outcomes improve dramatically.

Multigenerational trauma can be interrupted, new stories begin when she gets safe.
